Military women have higher divorce rate than men

A divorce is never an easy thing to experience. For people our nation’s armed forces, there can be many nuances that add to an already-difficult experience. Military divorce issues such as deployments, handling child custody during assignment transfers and more make a military divorce very unique when compared to a civilian divorce.

Adoptions face challenges from the Internet

Many Florida residents choose adoption as their route to becoming parents. The reasons for such choices are many and the rewards of adopting a child can be great yet the adoption process itself can be filled with challenges at times. Waiting lists, individual country laws governing an international adoption and other factors can leave many a prospective adoptive parent frustrated. While it would be nice to think that such problems are behind once an adoption is finalized, that may not always be the case.

How to assess whether or not you should keep a home in a divorce

Florida couples that are either contemplating or in the midst of a divorce must face a variety of very difficult decisions. Divorce issues are many and cover everything from living arrangements for minor children, child support, visitation plans, property division, spousal support and more. A high asset divorce can make any situation a more complicated divorce by increasing the number of assets to be divided.

Future taxes should be considered during a divorce

Florida manages property division during divorce cases by the laws of equitable division. There are a total of nine community property states in which all assets and liabilities are required to be split evenly. Equitable division, in contrast, does not require an even split but simply a fair one. While there are times that even and fair end up being one in the same, it is not always the case is something that can make any divorce, especially a high asset divorce challenging at times.

Take care to protect business assets during divorce

The complications that can arise in a divorce are many. Florida residents who have navigated through the process know this all too well. The experience is rarely simple with divorce issues including spousal support, child custody, child support, property division and more. If a business is owned by either or both spouses, the complexities associated with a divorce settlement can increase dramatically.
